VerseVoice

Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 22, 2026

VerseVoice ("the app", "we", "us") is a Qur'an reader that lets you listen to recitation, read translations, and follow along during prayer. We built VerseVoice to respect your privacy. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information.

We do not collect personal information

VerseVoice does not require an account, and we do not collect, store, or sell your name, email address, contacts, or location. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.

Information stored on your device

Your preferences โ€” such as bookmarks, your last-read position, your chosen reciter, translation, text size, and theme โ€” are stored locally on your device only. This information never leaves your phone and is removed if you delete the app.

Microphone and speech recognition (Live mode)

Live mode is an optional, experimental feature. When you turn it on, the app uses your device's microphone and your platform's built-in speech-recognition service (provided by Apple) to follow your recitation and highlight the matching verse. Audio captured for this purpose is processed by the operating system's speech-recognition service in accordance with the platform provider's privacy policy. VerseVoice does not record, store, or transmit your audio to our own servers, and the microphone is used only while Live mode is active.

Network requests

To show Qur'an text, translations, and recitation audio, the app requests this content from the public alquran.cloud API. These requests are needed to deliver the content you ask for and do not include personal information about you.

Children's privacy

VerseVoice is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy
